What is Microblading? Powder Brows? Combo Brows?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic eyebrow tattoo done by the process of manually implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin with tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes. Powder brows creates a soft and powdery healed result that resembles makeup. This service is may be a better option for clients with oily or mature skin. Combo brows is a combination of microblading and machine shading (powder brows).

What is Lip Blush?

Lip Blush is a cosmetic tattoo that offers a natural lip tint that last up to three years. Healing is usually complete within a few days and the lips resemble being

slightly chapped. Minimal pain, as a topical numbing agent is applied to help with discomfort.

What is Lash Enhancement?

Lash Enhancement is a cosmetic tattoo on the upper eyelid to enhance the lash line. We personally prefer to keep our work natural and do not currently offer or recommend full liner or winged liner as trends change over time and natural results are what we strive for.

Who is semi-permanent makeup for?

If you want to effortlessly look your best anytime, then cosmetic tattooing is for you! If you want to look younger, healthier, and more vibrant than this will do wonders for you! If you’re a busy mom, business woman or have an active lifestyle you’ll save hours every week not having to stand in front of the mirror slaving over applying your eyebrow makeup and lipstick. Not to mention, you won’t have to worry about sweating it off during a workout or melting by the end of an evening out.

Does it hurt?

Everyone has a different level of sensitivity. An anesthetic is applied for numbing during the procedure to alleviate discomfort. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the duration of the procedure. Clients are usually pleased to discover that it is no more painful than having your eyebrows tweezed or threaded.

PLEASE NOTE: Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure.

* If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the treatment will not last as long.

* If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

ABOUT Semi-Permanent Makeup: About

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Must be 18 years old. Please bring photo ID.

If you have reference photos please feel free to bring these to your appointment.

Please come in wearing no facial makeup. It is okay to fill in your brows before if you wish for me to see how you like to wear them daily. I will wash the brow and entire forehead area before tattooing.

If you prefer to have your eyebrows waxed/threaded please do so at least 48 hours before your appointment, otherwise we can remove stray hairs after we design your brows.

Do not tint or dye your brows for 5 days before your appointment.

You must not use Retin-A near the tattooed area before or after the procedure.

You will not be able to exercise the day of or day after your appointment. This includes all activities that produce sweat.

You cannot take any medications that may thin your blood (i.e. Asprin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E) 72 hours before or immediately after your procedure.

Do not drink alcohol the night before or day of your procedure.

Avoid caffine the day of your appointment.

It is required that you have no sun/tanning bed exposure for 30 days before and after your procedure. please account for both your initial and follow up appointments if you have a vacation planned where you will be getting sun.

For sanitation reasons I have clients remove their shoes while on the treatment table. I recommend bringing comfy socks.

Do I need to take time off work?

There’s no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swelling will dissipate within an hour. Your brows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from your activities of daily living. Because they fade 30% to 60% within the 6 week healing period, I will have to make them darker than they will eventually appear, but it won't be too obvious.

How long does it take for the brows to heal completely?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a week to ten days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. There will be a layer of color that sloughs off with that crust and a lot of color will go with it. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. A good month should pass before we consider the process complete. After the initial treatment, we will make a follow up appointment for fine tuning the color or to add further dimension or definition.

How long do semi-permanent brows last?

All eyebrow procedures lose their intensity over time including the ones advertised as 'permanent'. Fading and softening of the colors occur due to the skin's natural shedding of old skin, to exposure to the sun, to the use of skin treatments such as exfoliating agents or chemical peels, and to the body's own chemistry affecting the color.

Semi-permanent procedures do not go as deeply as permanent. This method allows the strokes to replicate actual brow hairs in a crisp and very fine line with no blurring of the pigment under the skin. It also lessens the risk of colors fading to blues, purples, pinks and oranges as the pigments fade, as this often happens with permanent techniques.

Microblading can last from 1-2 years, depending on how well you take of them and/ or your body chemistry, but because of the softening of the colors over time, periodic maintenance is necessary to refresh the color.
